Home gym buying guide

There are a lot of options for a home gym setup on the market, and it can be difficult to understand and decide what’s right for you. In order to decide, it’s important to know two things: what are you trying to achieve and how do you plan to use it? Answers to these questions will help to guide which home gym machine is right for you.

What are you trying to achieve?

Full body workout – some home gym machines are designed to train both the upper and lower body muscle groups. These ‘all-in-one’ machines tend to be more expensive and require more floor spare, but can be effective in training the whole body without going to the gym. These tend to be best for beginners, or for those who want to compliment cardio training with some muscle strength training.

Serious muscle training – if you’re looking for some serious muscle training, these all-in-one home setups are probably not what you’re looking for. We suggest looking at Kettlebells or Dumbbells instead.

Targeted Muscle Training – if you’re looking to train a particular muscle group, the all-in-one home gym machines may not be entirely suitable. We’d suggest looking at machines designed to target the muscle group directly. Get in contact with us and we’ll help you find the right equipment for you.

How do you plan to use it?

As already mentioned, if you’re looking to build serious muscle, or target a particular muscle group, there may be better options available than a home gym. But there are other compelling reasons for these machines:

Convenience - If you are looking to be able to do a full body workout without leaving the house or when it suits you, a home gym is a huge plus.

As a backup to the gym – if you’re regularly visiting a professional gym and looking for a complementary at home solution, these are perfect.

As an alternative to cardio training - people who are focused on cardio training and endurance training, yet want a more generalized at home solution for strength training. These at home solutions are ideal for this as they have all the features you need.
